A CALL TO OVERCOME IGNORANCE

ISRAEL DID NOT KNOW GOD: 

1. Isaiah 1:3 "An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master's manger, But Israel does not know Me, My people do not understand."
2.  Micah 4:12 "But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD, and they do not understand His purpose; For He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.
3.  Judges 2:10 “All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel.
4. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you…”

CHURCH AGE BELIEVERS ARE IGNORANT OF GOD AND HIS WAYS:

·         Ephesians 4:18-19 “Being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.

·         Romans 10:3 “For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

THE REALITY OF IGNORANCE IN THE CHURCHES:

•     There are 1,189 chapters in the Bible and most pastors have never done an exegetical study on at least 25 of them
•    There are 31,173 (31,102 KJV 1611) verses in the Bible and less than 15% of Christians have accurately memorized at least 25 verses.
•   There are 7,959 (7,957 KJV 1611) verses in the NT and most church leaders do not know the exact meaning of at least 25 verses.
•  Less than 3% of pastors have read the entire Bible at least 10 times.
•  There are 1,050 commands in the NT and most Christians cannot apply them due to lack of clear cut understanding of its actual meaning.

• The majority of Christians today are good charlatans but are ignorant of basic Bible doctrines and are being misled by their pastors who are not accurately preaching the truth.

IGNORANT is one of those words that we no longer use in context. If you look it up in the dictionary you will find the common usage of the word “to be lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned”. But the root word of ignorant is “ignore “which means  “refraining from noticing or recognizing” in which goes to show that to be “ignorant” means to refrain from recognizing knowledge or rejecting knowledge. It is better to have the truth that hurts you rather than to remain ignorant which could kill you.

IGNORANCE DOES NOT JUST MEAN LACKING KNOWLEDGE BUT RATHER, CHOOSING TO IGNORE KNOWLEDGE. The trouble with our pastors is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so. ONLY THE “TRUTH” CAN MAKE ONE FREE. CHRISTIANS ARE IMPRISONED BY IGNORANCE. They have ignored the Truth. Self-deception is the spawn of ignorance.

THEY IGNORE THE TRUTH, AND CHOOSE TO FOLLOW SOMEONE ELSE’S INTERPRETATION OF IT.

Our culture has made biblical truth soft like jelly fish. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE OF CHRISTIANS. THAT IS WHY THEY DON’T READ THEIR BIBLES. In today’s instant-gratification culture most of us are too lazy to investigate for oneself. In the age of internet, you have no reason to remain ignorant. Don’t die ignorant knowing nothing aside from Facebook.

Christianity is losing every war in the battle for the culture and the weapons of the opposing forces are disinformation and lies. THE AVERAGE CHRISTIAN IS INCAPABLE OF REBUTTING THE LIES OF THE ENEMY BECAUSE HE DOESN’T READ HIS BIBLE. He blocks the revelation of the Holy Spirit Who “will guide them unto all truth.” The Word is our Sword…our weapon. Most Christians are not proficient in wielding it.

WE ARE IMPRISONED BY IGNORANCE. The cause and effect is easy to follow in this trail of misery. Many pastors no longer preach from the Bible. It’s hard to find one pastor who preach as he ought to. To preach is to MOVE people. To teach is to inform. The great problem is that your preachers have soaked people with truth that they can’t live up to and don’t wish to be so.

The responsibility for the condition of every nation still falls squarely into the laps of those who profess the name of Christ. They declare that they want a return to “their real hot love for God.” They want Christian values imposed on their neighbors but they just don’t want to follow those values themselves.

Southern Baptist Convention gall up says that the high degree of religious tolerance reflects, in part, “not only a lack of knowledge of other religions but an ignorance of one's own faith. It's not that Christians don't believe anything; they believe everything"

Christians are uncertain about what the Bible says. For they do not actually study the very revelation from their Creator! Therefore, they can easily decide to "believe" almost anything. They can wrongly assume that "all religions are pretty much the same." Millions have heard famous evangelists proclaim, "The Bible says," when, in fact, the Bible clearly proclaims the exact opposite! 

MAJORITY OF CHRISTIANS TODAY ARE:

1.  IGNORANT WARRIORS: They fail to recognize the real enemies and have no idea what they are fighting for. They have no idea about their true enemies’ weapons, tactics, strategies, and schemes.
2. IGNORANT BENEFACTORS: They are ignorant of their position in Christ, their equal privileges & opportunities, and their spiritual assets and resources.
3.  IGNORANT TEACHERS OF THE BIBLE: They are flooded with knowledge and ideas but nothing according to divine standard and measure. They are bringing the world to the church and use everything from the cosmic system.
4.  IGNORANT LIBERATORS: They are slaves of ignorance trying to release their fellow slaves. They are blind guides to those blinded by deception and lies in the world.
5. IGNORANT OF THE PURPOSE OF THEIR EXISTENCE: Their ignorance results to great confusion that most of them fall prey to false prophet and false teachers.

Ignorance is the parent of fear but you don’t have to let it give birth to endless miseries in your life. There is no need to remain ignorant – it is just temporary affliction that can be remedied by pursuing the pertinent knowledge. Before the truth can set you free, you need to recognize which lie is holding you back.

Your ignorance is a fantastic power the enemies can use against you. Ignorance has always been the weapon of tyrants and the vehicle for enslaving the fools. The most violent element in any society and the most effective tool for deception is the ignorance of the people. Religious heresies and lies triumph because of ignorance. Satan and all the cultic religious leaders want everyone to remain ignorant.

Ignorance protects itself and grows until it can devour you wholly. Ignorance can be cured if you want it cure. There is no instant treatment for ignorance and one must be willing to devote many hours to learn and gain understanding. Ignorance is never blissful but a plain poverty of the mind, a devastation of reality, a tragedy of life, an illness of brain and is steaming from stupidity. Most people are drowning in their delusional ignorance without knowing that their suffering was created by themselves.

The WISE are fools WHO HAVE LEARNED TO OVERCOME THEIR IGNORANCE BY PURSUING KNOWLEDGE. Ignorance is the devil recipe for nominal Christianity whose appetite is hungry for the FOOLISHNESS OF THE WORLD (wisdom). Please escape from the great prison called ignorance.
